MISCELLANY
During the period of my time at Dunton Green, I took photos of other buses, usually, but not exclusively, London Country. The next two were taken at Brands Hatch during the 1977 British Grand Prix.
Among the vehicles London Country had on hire were a series of Leyland PD2s from Maidstone Corporation. The usual haunt of these was route 403, Chelsham to Wallington, but on this day a couple were pressed into service as Green Line Reliefs on route 719. This is Maidstone Corporation no. 24 |

In the summer of 1978, Dunton Green supplied a coach every Saturday for the Saturday service from Catford to Hayling Island. Private Hire coach PX11 takes the morning break at Kingsfold. 22-7-78 |

In the reverse direction, the break was taken at Boxhill, where PX11 pauses. 22-7-78 |

Three weeks later, and PX11 is caught on camera at the Hayling Island terminal. The lady was later to become my wife. |
A red bus. In newsgroup discussions, youngsters act with disbelief at the idea that route 51 once ran to Hayes Station. Here is the proof. RM1324 pauses at Warren Road, Orpington. |
After I left London Country, I worked for a few months at the independent operation of Orpington and District Omnibuses, who operated services between Orpington and Croydon (and Biggin Hill) using a ramshackle second-hand collection of mostly Leyland Atlanteans. |

This is 157, probably the best, and me, at the company headquarters at Oak Farm, Green Street Green. 29-10-78 |
